Guess what – I was served breakfast in bed. I really enjoy this pilgrim life!
Then I rushed down the stairs to start the walking…
But – wait a second! A painting by Andres By? But he was an apprentice of Kristen Holbø, wasn’t he? Those who continue from here through the center of Lillehammer, will pass the signpost “Kristen Holbøs veg”, and some days later the eager pilgrim will pass Holbø’s Kringen Monument at Otta in addition. Just read on, and you will find Milly’s comment on those. How peculiar to stumble by this connection right here…
Also, it seems Andres By grew up half way between the monasteries at Munkeby and Tautra, so that is some sort of a pilgrim reference. 🙂
It seems the weather forecast was correct. Some fog, but the sun is clearly there behind it.
Bye, Andres By.
Or, wait. What is that information on the wall about?
Whao. All the owners of the farm since the year 1350, and the present family has been around for 400 years. Not bad!
The last sentence states that Olav Haraldson (St. Olav) passed through the farm while travelling north-south through the country.
I wonder how many of all those former farmers would have laughed at the sight of an American blacksmith shed in their backyard?
Up there I left the pilgrim path last night, so now it is time to turn north.
The “Birkebeiner” was happy to get a stabilizing marmot on his ski tip.
Straight into the sunset – with style!
