Alf Prøysen is celebrated this year, as it is 100 years since he was born. Here is a performance from 1963. (The previous leg passes by his childhood home.)
Mjøsbrua:
On a clear summer day, this can be the view from this spot:
Not far from here you can ask any Norwegian older than fifty to sing this phrase for you, and they will know it:
…og bygda sig i mot øss, æillt er ro og fred,
nå legg vi øss og drømme, ser pottitgraset blømme
som Lilla orchidéer æille Brøttumsbakka ned!….
I have to get back a bit earlier in the autumn next time, to search for purple potato flowers.
After a walk of about seven hours, I spotted the sign I was looking for:
The path was just clear enough…
Soon I found myself at this doorstep.
I noticed that the cars had an elegant sign, and later I learned that they often serve moose for dinner on this farm.
Actually they can receive 800 guests at the same time! Fancy that – twice as many people as there exist Vancouver Island marmots as a whole on the globe…
(More about the farm here. Note that this is not a dedicated pilgrim shelter, so you have to ask in advance if a room can be rented or not.)
As you can see, we got a royal welcome!
A soft carpet in the hall. How comforting after walking all day! Here I try out how it is to be in the center of everything…
“The pink room” offered just what we needed, and it gave an instant summer guesthouse feeling!
A pleasant view. Note the oak trees.
The upper bunk looks good as well.
The mirror was placed in a quite marmot friendly way.
Time for a well deserved dinner!
Very soon it turned darker outside.
I had to check the weather forecast for the next day. Some fog would be likely, but hardly no rain…
Time for bed, then. I picked the lower one, as that would give me the best view through the window in the morning.
