(Camino de Santiago) – The French Way

1st week of October 2011

I was invited to join an American/Norwegian group for a one week introduction to a part of the Camino de Santiago (The French Way). We were to walk through the districts of León (within Castiella y Llión), Lugo and La Coruña (within Galicia). How could I resist a temptation like that?

As The French Way is one of the most visited pilgrimage stretches in Western Europe nowadays, I was curious to experience a part of it. Especially when I found out that the Iberian wolves in this area prefer to eat remains from farming instead of go hunting for animals like deer and marmots. Also, I was pretty sure to get fun company!

As the others had only one week to spare, we were taken care of by local experts – Marly Camino. You can always plan a walk like this by yourself, but if you feel that an organized tour is tempting by some reason, I thoroughly recommend this company.
